President Donald Trump will attend a memorial service on Monday to honor the victims of Ebola in West Africa, a White House official told Fox News.

Trump will honor the brave men and women who have given their lives fighting this disease, the official said.

The event, to be held in the Oval Office, will also include a memorial to the fallen members of the US Air Force and Marines.

Trump is expected to be joined at the memorial service by Vice President Mike Pence and Chief of Staff John Kelly.

The event comes on the heels of a visit to a US military base in Texas, which included a visit by Defense Secretary Jim Mattis.

Trump, who took office on Jan. 20, will attend the service with Vice President Joe Biden, who has taken the lead in preparing for the upcoming visit to West Africa.
